MITO HABE-EVANS // I love clever ideas carried out in beautiful ways, especially lo-fi ways. This is a blog of everything I'm jealous of not making myself, of ideas I wish I had, and I guess some things I've made too.

I know this isn’t actually cut live, but I like the style and would love to have this kind of energy/feeling of “being in it” with the stuff i do. Maybe this means I ditch the tripods and put my crew on monopods, stick them ON stage and ditch the formal centered wide shot for a lower, back of the crowd angle. Might try this next time around, at least for a rock show.

WIN A SIGNED COPY OF I LOVE CHARTS: THE BOOK
In response to that image/article going viral wherein they explain the hologram Tupac works, erer44 had an idea which I first thought was funny and posted here and then realized was really funny and decided to make contest out of it.
The best thing about the original diagram was clearly the labeled Snoop Dogg in the background, and ener44’s joke was that all technical diagrams should be amended to include Snoop Dogg. We could not agree more.
So, here’s the deal. Send us your best chart (technical or otherwise) with Diagram Snoop adding his hype-man presence, we will pick our favorite one, post it up here and send you a signed copy of I Love Charts: The Book.

I love the idea of augmenting paintings with projections, and this installation takes it to the next level with 3D structures. I wish I could go see it!

iknowchicago:

This weekend I saw the greatest art installation ever. Seriously. And I’ve seen a lot of cool installations but this one takes the cake! This thing needs to end up in the MCA or AI’s new wing.

The physical installation is intriguing and full of interesting + thoughtful elements. Add the layers of brilliant video + audio elements and you have the most engaging piece of art I have seen in a long time.

The details (because you MUST go see this thing) -

A collaborative multimedia installation by:

Anthony Lewellen
Brian Steckel
Christopher Tavares Silva
David Cuesta
John Heenan
Lauren Feece

Soundtrack by This Mother Falcon

Also showing the artwork of:
Chad Kouri
Laura Berger
Luke Ramsey

Great use of a GoPro to catch a real moment that tells a story. There’s something about the first-person point of view that makes this even more compelling, and not just about the action shot.
